Pierre&Harry recently had a trunk show with Br Uno, a boutique in Olde Naples that has carried Pierre&Harry exclusivley for Third Street South this past year. It was a fabulous trunk show, and our jewelry made the news over the past weekend. “Sheila’s Out Shopping”, a Sunday column for the Naples News, specifically mentioned our beautiful Jessica bracelet and matching necklace. In the Valentine’s Day themed article, Sheila Mesulam mentions “Br Uno has pearl jewelry with centerpieces or mother-of-pearl made into roses. 2 Broke Girls….and one of them LOVES her pearls!

This past week while Cullen and I were selling jewelry at the farmer’s market in Marco Island, we started talking to two girls about jewelry and a new TV show: 2 Broke Girls. They told us one of our necklaces is almost exactly the same necklace that one of the characters, Caroline, wears – a vestige of her previous privileged life. Apparently Caroline used to be part of Manhattan’s elite until her father was caught up in a Bernie Madoff esque ponzi scheme.

Of course I had to immediately do some research on the show, which required me to watch a little television, and see for myself what this new comedy is all about. What I found was a funny and different type of comedy, one that is not afraid to be a little raunchy, a little too desperate, a little too crazy. But in this instance, it works.

Caroline and Max, the two main characters, are from completely different planets, but they become friends and work towards a goal of owning a cupcake bakery, keeping the laughs coming along the way. The other day I was reading the latest issue of Lucky magazine, and was thrilled to see that the focus on beauty trends right now is based on pearls! Who wouldn’t want the soft luster and iridescent sheen that pearls have?!

Beauty editors everywhere were inspired by Chanel’s under-the-sea-themed runway for their spring collection. All the models were covered in chiffon with pearls in their hair and on the clothing. ”They’re underwater,” explained makeup artist Peter Philips. “It’s very clean and pure and fresh. It’s an unpolluted aquarium.” And that same philosophy is what is dominating the beauty world this spring!

All the models wore shimmering eye shadows in creamy whites and silvers, evoking the essence of the gems in which they were dripping. So hit the beauty counter and stock up on some spring pearl-inspired makeup! Afterwards come see Pierre&Harry to pick out your perfect pearls. Afterwards, you’ll look like you just stepped off Chanel’s spring runway!

Drew Barrymore: this week’s fashion inspiration

This month, InStyle magazine featured one of my favorite actresses, the fabulous Drew Barrymore, on its cover. Drew has always been candid about her life growing up in the spotlight, but as she has gotten older not only has her fashion sense has evolved but also her maturity. The “queen of cool” knows how to mix feminine classics with edgy pieces in a refreshingly combination. In InStyle she makes large-drop pearl earrings look chic and cool paired with a tailored skirt and pullover sweater. While Drew’s fashion sense has evolved, she herself has matured greatly and is enjoying the change to a “new normal.” She states she now understands “Happiness is a choice. You have to choose it — and you have to fight for it.” Well cheers, Drew, we love the new you and are so excited to see what happiness 2012 has in store for you!

As many of you may know, on Monday, December 26th, Pierre&Harry’s very own Cullen Talton married her beau, Andrew Daane.

The ceremony was something out of a quaint Christmas fairy tale from the beautiful flowers to the stunning little white church where they were married. The bride and groom couldn’t take their eyes off each other, and the intimate ceremony was both sweet and romantic. After the ceremony, the bride and groom rode off happily into the sunset in the best Naples carriage around- their high-speed golf cart, complete with sashes, flowers, bows, and of course, pearls!

Did I mention that the lovely wedding was in Naples, Florida, and therefore it was actually warm enough to ride off into the sunset in an open air vehicle?! After the wedding, the guests enjoyed a lively reception at the home of Cullen’s godmother Andrea Deane.

By all accords, this was a wedding to be remembered for long to come. Congratulations Andrew and Cullen Daane!
