Gaga is Gaga for pearls at the opening of Gaga’s Workshop at Barney’s

Last night Lady Gaga made an appearance at the opening of Gaga’s Workshop at Barney’s NY, a reinterpretation of Santa’s fabled workshop as seen through the eyes of the superstar. Her vision not only includes an entrance that is made up of a monster size facade of herself, but it manages to take up the entire fifth floor of the Madison Avenue men’s shop.  In keeping with the generous spirit of holiday giving, 25 percent of all sales will be donated to the Born This Way Foundation, which is dedicated to youth empowerment.

Good morning Pierre&Harry friends and family! I just wanted to post this great picture from the Marco Island Farmer’s Market yesterday of four wonderful women from Tennessee. While chatting with two of the women about where they were from at the farmer’s market, two other women happened to walk up and overhear our conversation. Shockingly enough, they were from the same area outside Nashville-and one of the women had taught the other woman’s grandchildren! It was a small small world yesterday at the market, and I was lucky enough to snap a shot of these women having a wonderful time with Pierre&Harry!Once again, we have found that pearls bring women of all ages together- so come find us at the Marco Island Farmer’s Market, you never know who you might meet!!!

End of Halloween Black Magic with Pierre&Harry

Happy Monday all! This morning I wanted to officially announce the winner of our End of Halloween Giveaway. As many of you know, Cullen and I were taking new email addresses and contact information every saturday through the month of October, in exchange for the chance to be entered in our Halloween drawing. Marco…Polo….Where in the world was Pierre&Harry last Wednesday?

The answer? Marco Island! Pierre&Harry has officially joined the Marco Island Farmer’s Market and was spotted there last Wednesday offering the latest styles and varieties of their beautiful pearls! Marco Island bears no connection to the famous explorer Marco Polo, but it does have quite an interesting history. Capt. William Collier settled his family on the north end of this island, the largest of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands, back in 1871. He traded pelts with the Native Americans, caught and smoked fish to sell to Key West and Cuba, and charged fishermen and other guests $2 a day for a room in his home. A few turn-of-the-20th-century buildings still stand here, but extensive real-estate development began in 1965, covering the island with restaurants, resorts and condominiums, and bringing in significant waves of tourists every fall/winter season.

Since the sales effort here was aimed at the northeastern states, the island emits a distinctly New York and Massachusetts vibe instead of the laid-back Midwestern style of its neighbors. Marco’s attractions are its stunning white sand crescent-shaped beach and access to the nearby waterways running through a maze of small islands, it’s excellent boating and fishing, and the island’s proximity to acres of wildlife preserves. If you haven’t been to Marco Island, its time to change that, because this small sleepy island of about 200 year-round residents has an incredibly rich array of wildlife; and some incredible beaches. Why not make a day of it and be sure to visit Pierre&Harry at the Marco Island Farmer’s Market every Wednesday through April 25th!
